Campaigning for You
In broad terms, the Youth Committee's campaigning agenda aims to address the particular concerns experienced by younger members - including unsatisfactory pay structures and the lack of career progression in what is still a profitable industry.
IBOA members take part in the ICTU march and demonstration on the Republic's economic crisis in Dublin on February 21, 2009.
A programme of work has been produced by the existing Committee for 2009. The focus of this work is to empower members by broadening awareness of employment rights and how to avail of them and to encourage participation in the Union.
As the Chair of IBOA Youth, Michael Ryan, notes, "participation and involvement by members in the Union is vital to a healthy Union culture. We wish to promote this by providing information on rights and policies to help members help themselves."
