Training
A recent IBOA training session in Belfast.IBOA believes that its members should be given every opportunity to enhance their skills and maximise their potential in their working and personal lives. Therefore, the Union offers members and representatives a wide range of training courses in life skills such as assertiveness and interview techniques as well as IBOA Representative training; health and safety training; and workplace issues seminars.
The delivery of training is flexible – with some training courses taking place during the working day and others during the evenings. In order to facilitate as many members as possible, IBOA provides training on a regional basis.
IBOA is also very pleased to have been a lead participant in the Women at Work Skillnet, which secured substantial funding from Skillnets Ltd for the roll-out of extensive training opportunities.
We hope that through our participation in another trade union based Skillnet, we can continue to offer further training opportunities to our members.
IBOA Training Officer, Marian Geoghegan, in class.IBOA Senior Industrial Relations and Training Officer, Marian Geoghegan, manages the provision of training within IBOA and is grateful for any suggestions, comments or queries from members.
The training courses which are currently available to IBOA members are listed under the headingss in the column on the left-hand side of the page. If you are interested in attending a training course, please register your interest by emailing louise.odonnell@iboa.ie
Although all courses are free of charge to IBOA members, considerable costs are involved in their provision. So members who are placed on courses are encouraged to attend all sessions. Information on upcoming training courses will be posted on a regular basis.
