Sports & Social
One of the long-standing objectives of IBOA – The Finance Union, as defined by the Union Constitution, is to provide opportunities for the sporting and social interaction of its members.
As well as broadly encouraging members to participate in sporting and social events organised through their employments, the Union also organises a range of activities including annual golf competitions, zoo visits and discounts on concerts and other entertainments as well as cut-price weekend breaks to destinations in Britain, Ireland and Europe.
The Union's Sports and Social Committee undertakes the organisation of these activities. The Committee can be contacted through IBOA House.
In addition to these activities, the Union's sports and social remit is supported by two social clubs – the Irish Bankers' Club in Dublin and the Belfast Bankers' Club – both of which are located alongside the Union's offices in the two cities.
