A Bank's staff rejected plans yesterday to cut back on the firm's pension scheme and implement a pay freeze. Around 7,000 Ulster Bank workers will be affected by the move. The Irish Bank Officials Association called it totally unacceptable. IBOA general secretary Larry Broderick said the union considers its members "are once again being scapegoated for the profligate lending policies'' of bosses at Ulster Bank and parent company RBS.
