Fury over bank pay freeze plan

Union bosses yesterday slammed Ulster Bank's move to hit staff with a pay freeze and change its pension scheme. The Irish Bank Officials' Association said the "unacceptable" proposals were not dis- cussed with the union. General secretary Larry Broderick claimed workers were being scapegoated for the reckless lending policies of bosses at Ulster Bank and its parent firm BBS
