Irish Bank Resolution Corporation:

New Name – Same Challenges…

Staff in IBRC have a unique opportunity to achieve professional representation through IBOA The Finance Union at a time when you never needed it more.

While the futures of Anglo Irish Bank or Irish Nationwide have been settled with the creation of IBRC, many major challenges remain. Redundancies are inevitable as the company is wound down over time. Pay and other terms and conditions of employment are currently under review. Staff face other issues including the possible transfer of parts of the business to other entities.

Staff are not responsible for the collapse of Anglo or INBS but they are being made to suffer the consequences. Of course, we cannot turn back the clock - but that doesn't mean that staff should be denied their entitlement to be treated with dignity, respect and fairness - not least because they still have a job to do in striving to secure the best possible outcome for the State and the taxpayers through this new institution.

In this new situation staff have a new opportunity to get organised to help themselves. The choice is simple: remain isolated and take your chances as an individual or get together with your colleagues as part of IBOA to seek greater fairness and decency.

By joining IBOA you will:

  • Enhance the bargaining power of staff in IBRC in dealing with management on key issues;
  • Increase your influence with Government, the various State authorities involved in the operation of IBRC and the ECB/EU/IMF;
  • Be entitled to individual representation and independent advice on a range of issues relating to your terms and conditions of employment - as well as a range of other benefits available to IBOA members; and
  • Have a much greater say in your future with IBRC.
