Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (EC) consists of the General Secretary, the President and 38 other members elected from particular constituencies within the Union.

The Executive Committee meets as a full Committee on a monthly basis and has responsibility for directing the general policy and affairs of IBOA.

The Executive Committee nominates the President for ratification by the Biennial Delegate Conference. The Executive Committee also elects six of its own members to serve with the President and the General Secretary on the Officer Board of the Union.

In addition, Executive Committee members meet regularly on a bank-by-bank basis and participate fully as members of the negotiating teams in representing members on issues in their own employment.

Executive Committee members are responsible for co-ordinating the local IBOA structure in their constituency – including the recruitment of – and communication with – District Secretaries and IBOA Representatives in their Region. EC members also play an important role in the resolution of issues and representing members in personal cases.
