Structure
IBOA - The Finance Union is essentially a voluntary organisation – in which elected members organise a range of activities on behalf of their fellow members – with the assistance of a team of full-time staff who provide administrative, technical and professional support.
The presence of an IBOA Representative in every workplace organised by the Union is the key feature in its structure. In larger employments – with many workplace locations – these representatives are co-ordinated by elected District Secretaries.
The activities of these District Secretaries are, in turn, co-ordinated by Executive Committee members – who, when acting collectively, are also responsible for the management of the affairs of the Union. The Executive Committee is accountable to the Union's Biennial Delegate Conference.
The Executive Committee also appoints the Union's staff – including the General Secretary – and elects from within its own ranks those members who will serve with the General Secretary and the President on the Officer Board.
